California Camping World 300 Results

What a busy week it has been for Joey Logano. Before Joey Logano would get in his car for the nationwide series camping world 300, he would have to deal with the media, as Joey Logano, Joe Gibbs Racing, and Home depot, finally made their announcement that, Joey Logano would be the replacement driver for Tony Stewart. What this meant was that Joey would be driving the number 20 home depot, starting in 2009, for Joe Gibbs racing in the sprint cup series.

If you haven’t read about it yet, you can read the article, Logano in Home Depot for 2009, you can read that, and also read Joey Logano Richmond 02 Car to catch up on the Joey Logano news for 2009, and 2008 plans.

After all the media was done with, it was onto California for Joey, it would be Joey’s first time at California speedway, as he has never raced or been to the facility. Even it being his first time at the California speedway, Logano proved that he could adapt and learn to the new track, as he was the fastest car in first practice session, in his Gamestop Toyota.

During the qualifying session, Logano would qualify in the third position, his teammate Kyle Busch, would qualify on the pole position. A third position in qualifying was pretty impressive for Logano, considering it is his first time at the speedway. It goes to show, how quickly Joey Logano is learning.

In the final practice session for the race, Joey Logano, again was at the top of the speed charts. This time, his team mate Kyle Busch, was in third.

When the race was over, Logano would finish one position shy of a top 5, as he finished in the sixth position. The winner of the event, would be Logano’s team mate Kyle Busch, as he lead all but 6 laps of the event. An impressive victory for Kyle Busch, as he scored his seventh victory in the nationwide series, and 18th victory of the season in NASCAR 2008 season.

Next week, Joey Logano will make his sprint cup series debut, at Richmond International Raceway! He will be doing double duty driving.
